Reddit, What Is Your r/NOSLEEP Story That Actually Happened?

This'll probably get buried, but I'll tell it anyway. It's A bit more low-key than some of the others. when I was in elementary school, a buddy and I were trying to contact a ghost. It was nothing serious, and it was far from a legitimate attempt to communicate with the spirit world. We'd been trying to do it for the past few days, and the rumor amounted to this: There was some girl at our school, and though the details are pretty hazy, I recall that we said she slipped and fallen while in the girl's locker room, right onto a protruding piece of jagged metal from one of the lockers. It killed her pretty much instantly.

Or that's what we said, anyway, but in all honesty, it was absolute bullshit. We made it up because... well, we were bored ass kids at school, with nothing to do. We'd been pursuing a variety of tactics, from speaking in the air, to trying to get this one kid to sneak into the girl's locker room to see if there was some jagged piece of metal with blood on it (I can't remember if he ever went in there, but I doubt he did). Finally, one day in the middle of a Midwestern winter, we had pretty much given up. We were on the bus, sitting across from each other, when we talked a little bit more, pretending to "talk" to the ghost. But then, something happened. There was a lot of condensation on the windows, and so I could easily see when some invisible three-pronged claw or pitchfork or something scratched at the glass. I heard no sound, but I saw the marks appear.

Now, like some dipshit kid, I said "Cool! Do that to my window!" In retrospect, it was... pretty damned stupid. It did not happen to my window, but the other window was swept at more, so I moved over to my friend's seat. That was when things got legitimately frightening. A feeling of panic surrounded me, and my buddy was just freaking out. Not audibly, mind you, we didn't think to yell at the bus driver or anything, though I don't know what that would have done. We stared directly away from the window, at the brown seat in front of us, and on the back of this seat four words scrawled out in green suddenly appeared. "Who will die first?" Instead of being visibly written, they simply weren't there one second, and there the next. My friend reports that he heard whispers around that moment, but he saw the words I did as well. I was a religious kid (I'm not anymore), so I started praying, and that seemed to do the trick. I had come to the conclusion that this was a demon, and I told my friend this.

Finally, we had reached my stop. We just about ran out of that bus as fast as we could. We were neighbors, so we got off at the same place, but my house was closer so we ran into it. Any paranormal creature that could get onto a bus could probably enter a house, but I guess it gave us the illusion of safety. I told my grandma everything, and she somehow calmed us down. My friend went back to his house a little bit after that. For a while afterward, I was still really frightened, and sometimes I closed my eyes while riding the bus. I don't know what the hell it was, a poltergeist, a demon, or what, but it's pretty much imprinted on my memory now. I hope you guys enjoyed, because it sure as hell scared me.
