Reddit, what is your scariest encounter with an animal?

I was snorkeling south of Miami in John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. As is standard practice, we used the buddy system and swam around in pairs. While underwater, I looked over at my buddy, and his eyes were HUGE, as he was fixated on something behind me in the water. I was scared just by the look on his face. But I turned around, and there it was, a full grown adult bull shark. Oddly what started as fear, quickly turned to fascination. It was clear the shark was just passing through, gliding with that side-to-side motion like they do. So suddenly I felt relieved of danger, and actually enjoyed watching this magnificent creature as it gracefully swam out of view.

Then I noped my ass back into the boat faster than I've ever swam before.
