Reddit, what's your worst apartment living story?

I've lived in the same apartment for several years, way too many in fact, and it's one of the nicer complexes in this city. However, if you live anywhere long enough, you learn that how nice a place is doesn't necessarily guarantee quality neighbors.

Over the years: Upstairs neighbor didn't let their faucet drip overnight when it got down below 0°, so the pipes burst and flooded down into my apartment. One neighbor is an old deaf man, I didn't have to turn the volume on my tv because his was so loud I could watch the same thing and hear the sound perfectly. Also started a fun tally every Saturday for every time I heard him scream GODDAMMIT at the tv while watching college sports. Another neighbor who only lived here for 3 months and was eventually evicted, would have parties every night of the week where he and his buddies would piss off their balcony a few times a night. One neighbor upstairs had a dog who barked the entire day while they were gone, and I mean, it would take a two minute break every hour but then start right back up. Another neighbor complained on them but they thought it was us, so they told the office that we played music too loud all the time and tied our dog to a tree right behind the building whenever we were gone (neither ever happened). So we were sent a warning letter. There was the Stomper Family, who had to have purposely stomped as loud as they could up 4 flights of breezeway steps, five or 6 times a day, and I actually tried once to stomp on the stairs like that with all my weight and couldn't do it. One neighbor I'm pretty sure was a drug dealer, and his skanky granddaughter would always be sitting around outside his door and often asked if she could use your cell phone. Another man had two teenagers who would sneak down to the bottom where we are, to smoke cigarettes, and they'd leave several cigarette butts in the breezeway for me to clean up every day. I started gathering them and delivering them to their welcome mat. There is one middle-aged lady who sits out on her balcony in her bathrobe and smokes cigarettes and talks loudly on the phone to someone about whatever the day's drama is or what her piece of shit kids have done recently, for anywhere between 3-4 hours every day. She's friendly though and always smiles and says hello. There's the resident nosey busy-body, a man in his 70's who actually has a notepad and makes a list of what/whose cars are in the parking lot at 9pm and 7am. He is into everyone's business and nobody ever has to complain about anyone, because he'll complain before anyone else would have time to dial the office number.
