Reddit, who was that person you met once in a chance encounter but you'll never forget (SFW)?

When I was in high school, I was walking home from class through the local park. This elderly woman stopped me and began to say things like "if you love someone, make sure you tell them you have life insurance." Being 17, I oddly ended up sitting down and listening to her entire rant. Apparently her husband of 40+ years passed away recently, and she was rather depressed about it. She told me about how they met, their first date, their married life, and their three children. It was a long and fulfilled life- happy children went to school and played sports, they always had family dinners at six over shared stories of their days, and weekend trips to the beach and theatre.

Maybe two hours into her story-telling, a middle-aged woman interrupted us. Hastily, she helped up the old woman and beckoned her to walk toward the park entrance. She said to me: "Sorry about that, she's my mom. Ever since my dad passed, she's been trapping people at the park and babbling on for hours about nothing. I think she's a little crazy... But anyways, I am sorry for her bothering you." The lady left, walking toward her mom with a low grumbling commentary that I could just barely hear.

As I continued to walk home, I picked a song on my iPod and noticed it was just before six. I couldn't help but think that this lady was also an artefact of her own mom's raising and story. I'll never forget this.

Also, happy mothers day.
