Redditor explains why millennials aren't buying the crap they've been fed by the establishment any longer.

I was born before cable TV was widespread and came of age with the Internet. So I've seen us go from old records to mp3s. Obviously the Internet has greatly expanded access to knowledge, but as far as I can tell the level of dialog and the types of ideas, the depth of them, were more substantive 30 years ago and before. I see people saying that somehow people have somehow woken up and are tired of being fed lies by corporate media. Corporate media is trying to keep up with the garbage of the Internet. The Internet has made it so anything posted can gain believers even the most ridiculous ideas and conspiracies. The best part about the Internet is the small percentage of use cases, and the vast majority is garbage that is truly viral. There is an anti intellectual strain that relies on half-baked ideas and everyone thinks they're an expert because Google. They think they're as smart as their doctor because WebMD. They're all international relations experts because YouTube. I wouldn't trade it for anything because better, faster communication is evolutionary progress. But the ideas, the library of Alexandria was just as revolutionary as the Internet. Knowledge is still knowledge. I think we have a younger generation that's not learning the basics of how we know what we know, and so they mistrust what real knowledge is. And there is nothing more difficult about growing up today and the studies and the path to success. The people who think they have it harder never heard if Vietnam or World War II apparently. Nothing came easy to any generation, they just didn't used to complain about it so much for have role models like Kendall Jenner making it look so easy and posting it in front of their faces all day about why everyone should be rich and Instagram famous.
