You sound like you have a good understanding. Think similarly to me. I just wish that the vocal portion of the greens community used logic. Ive worked at a abattoir that grows pigs in sow stalls. Its horrible, i study permaculture and dont mind killing pest animals as humainly as possible, so i dont really fit in any where, im either hanging out with the people i grew up with, ignoring their racists view points and ignorance on sociology or trying to connect with other people in permaculture, but they seem to be cashed up idealists who regurgitate information without understanding it. Im get called a greenie when i say things like get a clean kill here. I get called a dumb yobbo when i advocate hunting or resposible high country grazing (its the closest thing we can emulate for cows to migrate like they naturally want to do, and if done properly it has an impact on fuel loads and minimum impact on the natural enviroment)
