Redditors of Europe; How is the refugee crisis affecting you and your countries?

So I'm from the UK, and whilst we haven't seen the voulmes of refugees that countries like Germany have, it is still very much a contentious topic. The Tory government support (rightly imho) giving aid to the refugee camps in turkey Lebanon etc, and not allowing aslylum seekers to make the journey through Europe. Instead they have spent nearly 1.1 billion pounds on the camps themselves rather than helping those in europe. However we are privilaged that our island status allows us to prevent seekers from entering our country, but the odd asylum seeker has managed to sneak through the channel tunnel, and there have been numerous mass break ins at ports in calais and eurotunnel, forcing services to close until they are evicted. There are several small migrant camps in northern france for those seeking to enter the UK and there is fervant debate between Corbyns opposition and the Tories as to how they should be dealt with. Corbyn wants to allow them in wheras Cameron doesnt want to, citing the fact that it would encourage more and more to try and make the treacherous journey. The country at the moment plans to take in 20000 refugees over the next 5 years, a small amount compared to the 1 million germany has taken this year alone. Personally, I like most people in the Uk jave been largely unaffected, and I support the current governments strategy, whilst many more people now support this position after the cologne new year attacks, Paris, and the recent Sweden stabbing. I do now exercise caution when travelling abroad and there is a marked increase in border security, I hope this is interesting although I point out that my perception is only one in a sea of many here
