Redditors of the US, how would you feel about adding mental health and emotional coping skills into the public school curriculum from kindergarten through 12th grade?

I understand what you’re getting at, but as a student myself I just wanted to pitch in. My mom has never put any pressure on me in school. She always tells me to do my best, but doesn’t force me to sit down and study or anything like that. I’m so grateful for this. Because of her I have good grades and was able to at least try and live my best childhood. Many friends of mine with strict parents are out drinking their stress away and smoking weed at parties. It’s leading to major depression, the school system is not how it should be.

I agree that some kids don’t have the drive in them to do it themselves, but pressuring them is never the answer.
