Redditors over 30, what is the most important thing people in their 20s should do?

Specifically to today's 20-somethings... get off "competitive" social media. Looking for outside approval skews your brain in ways you can't imagine. You need to find a job, a place to live, maybe a partner to share it with, maybe some kids... and you need to know how to not give a shit if the way you do these things doesn't make you popular on Instagram or Youtube.

People are losing the basic understanding that no one else has to approve of your life and choices except you. This is why people are so entitled and self-centered right now -- there's a loss of the sense that your small inner circle should care about you and what you do, but nobody else should give a shit and you should definitely not give a shit that they don't give a shit.

Social media is giving everyone the sense that their worth comes from the approval of other people. That's not how it's supposed to work.

Start weaning off all that stuff and teach yourself to be okay with not being special. You're not supposed to be special to the entire world. You're just supposed to love the life you have.
