Redditors, do you think there is a common misconception about millenials ?

OP Here:

I see a lot of people talking -badly- about millenials.

But what I recently witness is that some people refers them either as "the early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years", or either as "people born around 2000s and after".

For the latter, they obviously think about Generation Z (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Z) ,judging by all those "edgy -teen- !", "weak !", you name it, etc shoutings here and there on the internet.

From that, I've came to realize that the millenial bashing comes from two main groups, towards two different targets:

  • Baby Boomers and above + Medias: Targets everything after 1980.

  • Generation Y: Targets everything after last-1990s.

So, do you think there is a general misconception on what millenials are. And do you witness that ?
