Redditors what do you do to help you fall asleep?

3 things are known to help you sleep well that I consider my commandments.

  1. Work out every single day, and if you need to, you can do light exercise every other day. This is proven to help you fall asleep, stay asleep, feel more energetic, and less restless. Even if all you do is 10 minutes of air squats, push ups, calisthenics in general, and stretching, you'll feel much more relaxed. If you don't work out at all normally, I want you to know I'm not telling you to go change your life. I'm saying 10 minutes of light movements on a towel in your room is better than nothing and my last resort if I'm too busy for a longer workout.

  2. Get on a regular sleep schedule. Getting up at the same time every day helps your body know when it's time to sleep, same goes for going to bed.

  3. Any light medication/supplement that's non-habit forming including melatonin and Tylenol PM, they unblock the receptors that make you go to sleep. Caffeine works for example by blocking those receptors making it harder to fall asleep, among other things. If you take these meds tho, allot yourself 7+ hours of being asleep or you'll be groggy as hell the next day as it hasn't warn off and your body keeps telling you to sleep.
