Redditors, what would have to happen in your country to make it "Great Again"?

I have a lot of ideas that I wish I could make a reality. Just my thoughts, spelling mistakes may be there, and not fool proof.:

We have to admit as a whole that we are not a great country. We never have been. When we were founded, we brought resentment and a whole lot baggage. Now, this country is a grumpy old man who is looking for anyone to blame for their resentments. Look in the mirror. We all made mistakes. It's not the end of the world. Realize and own up. Take responsibility.

The racism and racial tension that has infected America needs to fucking stop. This is what pisses me off the most. We are all human beings that just happen to look different from one another. Stop taking what one numbfuck does and think that all others who carry the same pigment do the same. That is not fair. Respect goes a long way!

Also, even if your ancestors were slaves, it doesn't make it right for you to treat another race like shit. No one is immune to being a racist, nor is anyone immune to getting racism. If you attack one because of their race, regardless of what color you are, it's a hate crime.

News should be actual news and not biased, click-baiting, dishonest, veiled, propaganda. Straight. Facts. That. Show. Both. Sides. I left a college newspaper because they wanted me to write articles that appealed to their views. I refuse to trade credibility for a huge amount of readers.

Instead of bashing ideas, help them make it so they can become reality. If they're bad ideas, help them improve it. Don't knock dreams down. If a kid wants to be a firetruck, help the kid get there. If, for example, I want to make my own income one day, steer me in the right direction. Anything is possible.

Realize that the only way crime will lessen is through education and rehabilitation. Do not lock them away in a building and expect them to not resent the world. Find out WHY they started committing crimes. Get to the root of the issue, and fix it. (This counts for most people to be honest with you. Murderers, rapists, terrorists, those who put many people in financial ruin because they only care for their own greed, those who commit crimes against children, etc. may be another story. Those who are basically true dangers to society.)

Nevermind that terrorism is probably existent mores on our own soil than anywhere else... We just hear what happens outside the US more often.

Speaking of education, make it accessible for EVERYBODY regardless of how much is in their wallet.

Also, PAY YOUR TEACHERS WAY MORE THAN PENNIES. They are shaping our futures. I can't believe they get paid so low compared to sports stars.

Healthcare needs to be fixed. Plain and simple. Don't make it required, but make it free or low cost. Sliding scale something, shit...

Sorry for rambling.

For every company, have a low-cost or free apprenticeship program so they can at least get experience in a field. It'll look good on their resume if the company doesn't hire them at the end.

I think small businesses would appreciate this for some reason.

Also, companies need to make it easier for people to apply. Instead of using computers to tell you who is a good candidate, bring every single person who applied for the job in to speak with them. I would rather know that someone was at least interested in my company rather than how much experience they have. I would bring someone off the street if it means helping them make their lives better, so in turn they help me.

Gradually raise the minimum wage so that even the most menial of jobs can support a family of four at least. My idea specifically was to have people work part time but pay them over $30 an hour, so that we have more time to rest and live. I think that could also allow bosses to bring more people in to work for them.

Have our bosses/potential bosses learn how appreciation and respect goes a long way. We are more willing to care about our jobs if they care about us.

You know that saying, for the people, by the people? Instead of millionaires, wealthy people, or those who just have a degree in political sciences, bring in those in poverty, low middle class, school teachers, and humbled people who know how hard life can be. Bring in young people so that a fresh pair of eyes can see what is going on in our country today.

As far as foreign relations, I think while we have to keep peace, relate to them, America should focus on keeping the economy within its own borders. We can't help others if we do not help ourselves. We have to pay our debt before we end up getting nuked or bought out. (Keep jobs in the U.S. before we expand out.)

That's all I have so far. It's not like anyone will support my ideas though lol.
