A bit long: When I was around 9 I was home with my mother, sister (12), and brother (3). It was around 10 PM and we kept getting calls from an unknown number and my mother, who is a very paranoid person, did not answer (she never did with unknown numbers) and started getting antsy. The calls stopped completely after a while. Then, maybe thirty minutes later someone started ringing our doorbell. Well, my mom who was already paranoid, peeked out and saw nobody. Our porch lights were off which was unusual as they were motion sensors. Eventually after 3-5 minutes the doorbell stopped ringing. 5 minutes or so later we heard a noise in our backyard, like the fence being opened. We thought nothing of it until there was a noise on the back right side of the house. My dad's room was located in that area on the second floor so we went to peek over the window and saw a ladder! My mom started freaking out without trying to freakout and started calling the cops. She told them someone was trying to break in into one of our second floor bedrooms with a ladder and explained all the events leading up to it. Finally we heard from outside the window "It's me!" We stayed quiet until we heard it again. Then, my mom gave me the phone to look outside and make sure & told me to explain. So I just said "Oh never mind, sorry! It's just my dad!" I still have no idea what he was thinking?
