Redditors who have found a dead body, what is your story?

Ive found about 5 dead people, don't worry, I'm not a serial killer - just work with the elderly.

Number 1. - was a carer doing home care. Went to help an older lady have her lunch, take her medication & go to the bathroom. She had a "keysafe" so you didn't knock the door, you just put a code in the keysafe and get they key out and go in. Lady's in her bed at lunch time, and grey....and cold. Turns out the morning carer freaked out and just left. Anyway, coroners report indicated she died overnight, so morning carer didn't stop her getting help or anything, but I think she still got sacked and had to speak with the police and stuff.

2&3 were both pretty uneventful. 2 was an old chap who liked a drink. He only had care every couple of days and was in his arm chair with quite a few cans around him. 3 was lieing on his bed in all his clothes, he only had someone come do his shopping & cleaning once a week.

  1. Was an younger man with traumatic injuries after being in the military. I suspect his was actually suicide. He had a c-pap machine he put on himself at night but didn't. He usually had night time care but cancelled it that night. He had capacity & knew the risks about not having care. I was a social worker by then and not a carer so when the care agency told me he cancelled care I tried to arrange a visit but he didn't answer his phone so I went round. His place was suspiciously tidy and a big folder labeled "paperwork" was out on his bookshelf where he used to have books/games/etc.

  2. Was not work related. My dog found someone on the one occasion I've walked him early morning. Couldn't tell if he was a rough sleeper who got sick or suicide. All wrapped up in a sleeping bag & a grey/blue colour. Called 999 & both police and ambulance came. We'll stick to dog walking a bit later.
