Redditors who got over depression, anxiety or any other forms of mental health, what is your one piece of 'golden' advice to Redditors currently suffering from these disorders?

I don't know how common my anxiety solution was but I'll give it anyway just in case. For years I assumed that my stomach aches were caused by anxiety. Tried anti-anxiety medications, tried therapy, nothing worked. Had a bad bout of stomach problems / panic attacks, and amongst all the trying to figure out what was at the root of my psychological problems, a nurse gave me a sheet of paper with the "GERD Diet" on it. For a week I avoided those foods. My stomach aches went away but amazingly so did my anxiety. I suddenly felt weirdly calm. Like all the time. It was only a few weeks later when I cheated on the diet and had an anxiety attack that I made the connection. The doctors got it backwards. My anxiety was caused by my stomach problems!! So pay attention to your gut. Pay attention to what you eat and how you feel 6, 12, 24 hours later. Whether it's acid (like me), or glutin, or lactose, or meat in general, or an allergy, consider that what you eat might be a potential source of your problems.
