Redditors who have had major health issues - what small symptom should you have looked into earlier?

I was meant to have a spur removed from my left knee when I was in my teens but since I had a load of tests at the time I put it off, I've tried going back a few times but each time I've had a consultation the surgeon says my knee looks fine on the x-ray, I get them to feel it as I move my knee 'yeah, let me take another look' they take another look then finally see the spur, 'we'll try physio first rather than risk causing issue with scar tissue', they just send me for physio which does fuck all, then I have to start all over again since again they say my knee looks fine.

Bending my knee I can feel it sort of grinding against some tissue and I can't sit with my leg in certain positions because it'll start to go numb. It doesn't matter if I'm sitting, standing whatever if I hold my leg in certain position it starts to go numb.

My head's done in with trying to talk to surgeons where we can barely understand each other to the point I've just given up
