Redditors who do jobs that are objectively bad for people/society (e.g. marketing cigarettes) how do you feel about it?

I work in advertising. Sometimes I have to work on ad campaigns for products that are really wasteful and no one really needs, and I feel kind of bad about that because I do care about the environment and conserving resources and all that jazz. I've also had a chance to work on some really progressive campaigns, though, and that's been really rewarding and has helped balance out some of the bad feelings I have from doing the other stuff. For instance- getting the chance to feature more black people in ads for a retailer that has traditionally been suuuuper white. Sitting down with that client and talking to them about why it's important that we use more people of color in their ads. Being that voice of change. Feels good. Yeah, at the end of the day for the client it's just about selling things, but I truly believe that there are all sorts of ways that we, the creatives in this industry, can slip progressive messages into advertising or convince our clients that more progressive themes will actually help their cause.
