Redditors who live in cities with a high cost of living (i.e. San Francisco, London, New York, etc) what do you do for a living?

Me too. Tried to get help from friends and family but nobody wants to accommodate their worldview to how rents tripled here for many people in a few years time, not like we could save up to gtfo, because wages were stagnating everywhere, and now I can't save up the money to leave and my best efforts are never good enough. No stmpathy, just, you fuckec up and you gotta bootsrap your way out of it.

Friends and family don't want icky feelings from me telling them this but they want me to be in "normal" living situations because it makes them feel better, but also refuse to help. Getting a new living situation is $3000 or more I could spend to just move away from this mess of a hellhole where tent encampments have become an accepted and normal part of the landscape, like we are a developing country in some places or something.. You see ads for $900/mo to have the living room of a studio apt, or same price to have five adult roommates in a house, but 30 other people are being interviewed for the same room. Adults with college educations. It's dehumanizing as fuck.
