Redditors who rage quit a job without thinking, what was the last straw?

Yay a relevant post for my story!

I was a lead AV tech at a small company of about 8 employees. I had a crew I would supervise while I did my own work. Normally they were all very good, but one day they slipped up a bit. We found out the next day that one of the guys didnt turn the audio up all the way. My boss was pissed, came out yelling at me, and I had to take a trip back to the restaurant to turn the amps back up.

As "punishment," he made me work alone. When I got back to the shop that morning after turning the amps up, he sent me on a 2 hour drive to go to a school. I had to go install a set of speakers he had hand picked, and a camera in a home-ec class. I also had to install a projector in another room, and a sound system in a third room. He expected the whole job to take about two hours which is stupid.

The home-EC room needed the speakers mounted to the wall, speakers ran to the PC, and a video cable from the camera to the current projector, and the camera installed. The other classrooms needed cabling, hardware, Etc. It was easily a 6 hour job.

But I finished it. I made it out to the job site by about 2pm, I installed everything and left around 8pm. I grabbed a pizza and energy drink for the ride home, and got back to the shop, unloaded my shit, finished paperwork, and went home.

The next morning, I had got there and was ready for my next job. He came out and was FURIOUS. The school called him because I had installed the wrong speakers. We got in a shouting match because he didn't want to believe that he had given me those speakers and the correct ones were in the shop "somewhere". I asked him where they were and he couldn't find him because he NEVER ORDERED THEM! He always did this shit. And would ALWAYS blame someone else for his fuck ups.

So this jackass tells me he is writing me up, then I have to travel back to this town 2 hours away to make it "right." I couldn't make it right because I had no speakers. I couldn't do anything. He was going to send me out there so I could show my ass.

So I told him to go fuck himself. "Fuck you, fuck your company. Fuck the way you run this godforsaken business, you can barely afford to pay us half the time without taking out bank loans. For your life, fuck your house, fuck your wife, fuck everything you stand for." As I was cussing him out, I walked to the van and started grabbing my tools. "I busted my ass for 3 years, taking all sorts of verbal abuse for you, all for nothing you angry little fuck head!"

He starts yelling back to put my tools back in the van because I have a job to fix! I said it once more "fuck your job, you greedy little troll. I quit!"

I slammed the doors and just bounced.

It was surreal because I never let myself get that mad. I've always let it roll off and tried to just ignore being angry and move on. But I had out up with his shitty ways for 3 years, 5-6 days a week. He would use us work 10-16 hour shifts, and on some occasions I had to work 24 hours because he would take on huge level jobs with only 4 or 5 techs. He was constantly taking parts from one job to use on another,, and would tell the original customer some BS lie as to why we dont have the parts in. He always went back on his word, and had to he right over everything, even when we had proof he was wrong.

He finally went bankrupt in April of this year. I met up with a few old techs after that to share and listen to horror stories after I left.

But leaving that company that way was one of the craziest feelings I had ever experienced.
