Redditors who have switched religions what was the thing that caused you to convert?

I didnt have much of a religion but knew there is a creator. I went through several religions examining and criticising till i found Islam to be the truth. My family is kind of fine with it but my dad still gives me trouble, while my brother is also Muslim. The proofs, evidences and histories of the prophet and the Qur'an is massive and i have looked at arguments from atheists, christians, jews and whatnot and none cause any doubt about the religion. However, the correct following of the religion, not the deviant sects such as 'khawarij' like isis and al qaeda is necessary. Here are some things about the Qur'an and the prophet Muhammad that I took into account:

Prayed till his feet were sore, slept on rough surface. Fasted till he went hungry. No one would do these things for no reason.

-Refused to compromise teachings for the most wealth and women and status.

-Came with the noble Qur'an which no one could match. And this is acknowledged by the arabs at that time and non-muslims of today who have studied it. It is a well known fact that the text of the Qur'an is superior to all other writing.

-When the eclipse occurred right after the death of his son, the people thought it was because of the death that it happened. The prophet Muhammad said that the eclipse had nothing to do with the death. A false prophet however, would hurry to claim such an event for himself as a miracle or sign to prove himself and trick people.

-His character was far superior to any others.

-The messenger Muhammad is reprimanded in the Qur'an, would not reprimand himself.

-The prophet was illiterate

-The messenger's prophecies came true.

-Scientific knowledge in the Qur'an which could not have been known any other way.

-The prophet Muhammad was known to be truthful and not a madman. If, for example, you see a drunk man one night shouting and stuff, then in the morning he tells you that the creator has revealed to him scripture, you won't believe him. Kids who are young and tell lies or fool around you don't believe fully what they say or someone who is known to lie. But someone who is truthful and serious minded to spend the rest of his life in pursuit of this.... "I exhort you (O unbelievers who claim that the Prophet is a madman), to one thing: That you stand up sincerely, and not merely following your desires, in pairs, and ask each other: Have you ever known him to suffer from madness; then that you reflect and consider individually the truth of his affair." [Soorah Sabaa' (34):46]

-Linking on from last point, he was called the truthful one and trustworthy one (along these lines) before coming with revelation. Then the evil, wrongdoers called him a liar, a poet, a madman, magician.

-No contradictions in Qur'an. If it had been written by a man, contradictions, errors would lie therein. Not a single one is found. This is proven by those websites that claim to know of contradictions but these are tricks. [Will they not carefully consider the Qur'aan: had it been from other than Allaah they would have found a great deal of contradiction in it." [Soorah an-Nisaa' (4):82]

-It was prophesied that his uncle would be among the dwellers of the Hell-Fire, and he had plenty of time to live, where he could of even claimed to be muslim and disprove this, yet he died upon disbelief.

-The Qur'an stated that the messenger would not be killed by another person, along these lines, and though he fought in many battles and there were numerous assassination attempts on him, he died a natural death.

-The messenger, ok, had a message. But for it to start with one man, and end up with billions, despite under attack and in the middle of the idol worshippers. Many people have claimed to be prophets, they got nowhere and were humiliated.

-The Qur'an still preserved till this day. Prophecy, the messenger knew it would be preserved. If he was a fake, then how would he know that his book would be preserved to the letter, almost 1500 years later.

-If he was a fake, he would have tried to take as much of the worldly life as possible with his fame, rather he lived simply and repetitively stated that his reward was in the hereafter.

-The prophet could have wrote in the Qur'an that his family is the best or whatnot or that the arabs are superior but he never did such a thing and rather said that no white is a superior to a black or an arab over a non arab except in piety.

-Jews and Christians recognised Muhammad as the prophesied messenger from their books.

  • His name only occurs 5 times in the qur'an. If he wanted to convince the people to follow him then he would pepper the text with his name. His full name is not even mentioned, just Muhammad.

-Drag him by his lying forelock, lies come from frontal lobe. Muhammad could not have known this. Why forelock? Why not neck? Or back? Or head?

-Big bang is not rejected: "Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And we made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
