Redditors who worked at defunct stores (Blockbuster, Circuit City, etc.), when did you realize they were done for?

Worked at a Family Video, it literally just closed within the last year. I never thought it would close to be honest. I also worked there in 07 for a summer and it was always had a steady stream of customers. However, when I went to rent a movie just recently before they closed it was dead. Even their games section which was pretty up to date was full of copies which was never the norm there.

That same summer I worked at Sears and I knew it wouldn't be around long. The store was never busy. Their customer base was extremely old, the brands and styles didn't cater to anyone under 50. I do know that their craftman (I think) tool policy kept the tool section busy. I know the people that worked there made ridiculous comission. Also the way they pushed Sears credit cards was insane because a majority of the ppl that shop there already have one.
