Redditors with real life "butterfly effect" stories, what happened and what was the series of events and outcomes?

I was in a program in college for radiation therapy and hated it.

Switched majors and went into a depressive spell. Talked to my older cousin about how stuck I felt in my retail job--it wasn't allowing me to take the classes I needed to graduate with my health admin degree.

She hooks me up with a job at the call center where she's a supervisor. I get to work hours that accommodate my classes.

A few months into the job I'm struggling to find an internship and it's the last thing standing in the way of me getting my degree. She says her aunt used to work for a doctor's office and texts her (I'm not related by blood to her so I didn't know her very well).

I end up going to aforementioned doctor's office for interview. Get the internship, work with some amazing administrators. Graduate with my degree.

I'm working at the call center when I get a call from the boss from my internship. She says the person taking maternity leave in a few weeks doesn't want to come back after all, and asks me to come in, train and take over the position.

So I basically have the amazing job I have now because I spiraled into a depression, quit my major and ended up crying it out with my cousin.

Also, I credit leaving that stupid program with meeting my boyfriend. I would have never started dating on OkCupid if I had still been in the program. I just never had time AND I was miserable 24/7. With my new major I was able to actually have a social life. I'm much happier now than I would have been.
