I hate to be “that guy,” but I am glad to hear a least one liquor dispensary venue is staying open in the province. I commend the bravery of The Beer Store and LCBO staff as they face unprecedented demand lately with exponentially increased risk every day on the job, but we’d likely be facing another public health emergency in Ontario it thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) were suddenly subjected to alcohol withdrawal.
Going forward, we’ll have to begin re-considering which professions truly are essential to the well-being of our society, and whether or not we fairly compensate them for their efforts (namely, all retail, delivery and construction workers that we rely on to remain on the job right now).
