If I was a Halloweentown denizen I’d be bitter for sure, but I have a bit of a humanitarian streak so I’d fear our powers and influence going unchecked in the mortal realm would lead to potential genocide of humans so I wouldn’t support a takeover on the scale Kalabar was suggesting. The “Separate but equal” thing wasn’t working out but the Cromwell’s fixed that at the end of II so that’s that.

But. Whatever we all feel about Kalabar, but can we agree Kal is a megadouche in the sequel at least? He’s an even better antagonist because you love to hate him, but man do you hate him. He’s the worst. His little face-in-the-bricks trick nearly gave me a heart palpitation as a child too.
