Regarding Laboratory

While I'm not sure why this has to be discussed 25 minutes before the patch (and thus ~4 hours before you'll get the answer either way), here's what Teremus said in NA:

Alrighty, I know this was a bit in the works, but I needed to learn quite a bit myself before I could say anything. I don't like working with half-assed information.

Will there be a "Reset", and if so, will we get our batteries back? Yes, and yes. Everyone will be starting over from Rank 1 and will need to work themselves back up to where their Eidos count will take them. Let's get a little more info on this:

** You will get all of your Batteries back. *

*Why do Batteries matter? Batteries are no longer a necessity, they are used to accelerate and complete research rather than a requirement to even start it. All Batteries that you've ever spent will be returned to you. What will happen to those you haven't spent? Well....you haven't spent them, so you still have them.

*You will get quite a few rewards and goodies as you progress yourself through this new system. So you'll want to actually start fresh.

Is there an intended "Regression"? No, just a new system. Players are attributing how the new system works to a regression, and I can understand why but let me explain the difference.

If you're at exactly 700 resistance's worth, you'll likely be at a lower rank than what would allow you to access the Avatar. Yes, this may result in some players not being able to engage the Mechanoid Avatar after this new system kicks in. Now the real question is why am I saying that's not a regression. Well, because it's a completely different algorithm and system. There is a gap of power right here, and everyone is used to a certain level where you can engage the Avatars.

This is being implemented in the middle of a Mechanoid Invasion, and prior to another change we have coming for the Invasion system as a whole. What this means is that while some may not be able to engage the Mechanoid Avatar right off the bat, many will have the resources and the time prior to the end of the invasion to get themselves back up to that point in the new system. As you progress beyond that point the system's benefits begin to become apparent as you move forward, it'll likely take about 4-5 days after the fact for you to already be higher and more capable than where you would have been in the old system. It won't take long for you to already be stronger with the new way of doing things.

Is this a regression? No, but that perception is understandable. It's an unfortunately timed scenario, but this would have the same perception no matter where we were in Invasions and they'll always be back. I get why people are concerned this is an intended regression, honestly I do, but the reality is just that the timing of these two occurrences don't synergize well and may leave some players in an unfortunate position which I apologize for. Many players however will have the resources to get themselves to a point where the system very quickly begins to work in their favor and won't see this as an issue. The problem RU ran into was the Battery refunds didn't allow them to work themselves back up properly in time, and that's where many of these concerns came from. I get it, I do, but many of you won't be in that position due to the lessons learned on RU.

Another issue RU ran into was the lack of cold resistance from the Oceanid Invasion they had. We haven't had an Oceanid Invasion here in our region so that's not going to come into play for your returns.

Do Eidos' = currency in the new system? Yeah, pretty much. Ranking in the new system is very much based on how many Eidos you obtain/have obtained. Yes, Batteries are now specifically used to accelerate the process rather than being required. This allows people to simply put their efforts towards participating in the Invasion Missions and any methods of obtaining Eidos while the research itself is extremely simplified.

What's the difference between calling it "Resistance" and "Rank", aren't they just the same thing with a different name now? No, not at all. Resistances are still a thing, just a very different thing. Ranking is the new "Gate."

I tried to answer the primary questions that I was given. Did I miss one that I need to answer (if able)?
