Lets look at this. Two separate cultures thought in the beginning there was nothing. Well that would make sense since they were describing an origin for the universe, but I think even giving that much is questionable.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

This doesn't describe anything about the state of the universe before the earth. There is nothing that says the universe was not made from something, but rather the opposite. The word bara is translated as "created" in English, but the concept it embodied was not the same as the modern term. In the world of the ancient Near East, the gods demonstrated their power over the world not by creating matter but by fixing destinies: so the essence of the bara which God performs in Genesis concerns bringing "heaven and earth" (a set phrase meaning "everything") into existence by organising and assigning roles and functions.

Let us also not forget that biblical cosmology is demonstrably false. There is no evidence for the great flood, or the Tower of Babel ever happening. There is actually a massive amount of evidence against those things ever happening in a long list of scientific disciplines such as geology, archeology, and anthropology.

Now that we have established that none of the these stories could have ever happened we need to address the interpretation of these characters and their parallels. I can not really address this part as knowledgeably, but from what I can find ancient Chinese characters simply did not work the way he is presenting it. If true this could potentially show that these two cultures could have shared some information or had common inspiration, but this does not appear to be in any way be the case. Likewise, if his specific claims are true then every culture on the planet would need to have creation myths that show influence form genesis.
