The jam band scene is built upon the unknown "x factor" if you will, never hearing the same version of the same song the same way twice. It's what keeps us coming back. Everyone is welcome as long as everyone realizes that everyone is welcome.

Religion, by its very nature is Extremely Constrictive. "Adhere to these principles, Never deviate, or you're not welcome in (insert your religion) here.

Obviously, These two principles are diametrically opposed to each other.

"Freedom of expression" versus "Adhere to our given strictures"

Not judging, just saying, There's a very good reason most folks don't put garlic on their ice cream.
