Religion/Theology Should Not Be Considered A Personal/Sensitive Topic To Discuss Or Debate With Strangers. CMV.

I'd love if people could discuss things like religion and politics openly with no issues. That said, as much as I personally agree with OP's main point, it is ultimately a subjective view that is neither right nor wrong.

"Sensitive topics" are up to the person who is having the discussion. Some people find talking about things like divorce or rough childhoods very easy while some don't. Some people would be offended by a topic like men's hair loss. Ultimately, it's up to the person and what that person is comfortable with.

Not to mention, there are unfortunately a variety of factors that can make such discussions risky. We live in a world where expressing that you're a NY Yankees fan could get you beat up if you're in some parts of Boston. Where talking against a religion in certain places can be considered blasphemy and lead to imprisonment and/or death. Where minority groups get attacked in public just for being who they are. And there are so many more examples. And to top it all off, there's also the fact that people are not often good communicators and listeners, especially when it comes to debate. The truth is, talking about certain topics can be pretty damn complicated.

So yea, people should be able to talk about religion with strangers without it being considered a sensitive topic. But that's being idealistic rather than practical. It's like saying that we shouldn't have to lock our doors or protect our belongings because stealing shouldn't be taking place anyways.
