Religious people of Reddit, why do you believe in something that is obvious fake and has been disproved by science time and time again?

By the sounds of it you too mistake god as a man in the sky. As it happens, you are another version of "deluded", as you cannot see beyond your own depiction of 'truth', whilst claiming another to be false. That isn't any more an insult that what you make of religion.

To be clear, god does not rest upon the words of man, but our ability to reflect and acknowledge an existence that we know not to be our own creation - that includes science.

God made creatures, and creatures made idols of god - Jesus, Allah.. elements on the periodic table. I say that for a particular reason: Idols are recognised/discovered and given names to identify their place in reality.. respected or worshipped, they were discovered for the very fact that meaning is real.

It is no delusion that you are at it's mercy of this place, knowing you don't have absolute will over it.

Perhaps you're too busy thinking about what you think about religious people, rather than the obvious truth that there is a reason why you can read, and learn. Try to explain that occurrence without crediting a force that is not your own.

Science is another way to study the will of god, another version of interpreting "the truth", just like religion, except science doesn't consider itself like a religion, and yet it is.

It's a set of beliefs that acknowledges gods law; Religion.

The problem though, is that man can use it for power, just like religion. That doesn't mean that scientific study is evil, but the survivors of atomic war are sure to create a belief system that treats it like religion has treated witchcraft, and black magic. Eventually, turning into another "stupid religion that doesn't listen to scientific fact"..

Believe it or not, science is another double-think that atheist like to overlook as being god.

To say that god isn't real is not a mistake on behalf of religion, but a mistake on yours, because you're too deluded to see what religion acknowledges, and how it has been misunderstood for centuries, like everything.

Remember the game Chinese Whipsers? No matter how true, or sacred your words, someone will and has always mistook them to mean something else.

You don't need to believe there is a man in the sky to know that we are made in the image of something we do not identify as our creation.
