Reminder: Chief Cody AMAA tomorrow, 2 June at 1430 EST.

Call me skeptical, but I don't think much positive action can come from this. Even now, as we post, various Staff members are screening this "Reddit thing," and many likely have little clue as to why many Amn on this forum are frustrated with the way the Force is currently handling our warfighter business.

They're gathering intel on the climate, prepping the ops environment with softball responses for the easy questions, and possibly ignoring the critical ones. You know, the ones that may matter the most to those most affected or with the most to lose within the next few years when their enlistments are up.

Between Enlisted promotion & PME changes, ESRB cuts, retention boards, promotion boards, slashed Congressional benefit proposals, TA scares, mil-mil proposed BAH reductions, DOS roll-backs, TSgt Release delays, and the general Do-More-With-Less mantras preached the last few years, I really hope people can stay on point and respectful. We're bleeding out our experienced and talented NCOs, who are the backbone of AF operations as a whole. The ones who teach, train, mentor, and set the overall tone for the new Airmen that will replace them someday, and sustain a combat ready and support Force that puts Warheads on Foreheads and shit.

Of those many AF issues highlighted above, this is a good opportunity to highlight a specific problem constructively, and direct the problems we face as current Enlisted Force members. It's also a good time to offer solutions. I don't mean opinions YOU personally have on how to fix shit, but the approach with a WE mentality to solve our problems with less funds, manning, and training than any time in recent memory while we sustain combat support in multiple AORs. Y'know, the kind of shit regarding uncertainty and how it harms the Enlisted Force until the specifics are defined. I think JQP mentioned it a recent post. Uncertainty creates stress, on both a personal plane and an organizational one regarding hope. We have been hit with too much change all at one time, with ham-fisted planning and shit results and a culture that doubts its Sr Leaderships intention and end state.

And for the love of God, I hope the users with offensive usernames refrain from dialogue. Nothing against you guys, I fucking love y'all, but if your handle is AFFisterCumbubble9, these people will run away from this sub and serious answers to potential questions faster than the fat kid in your shop runs from the mando unit fitness program. None of us are as anonymous as we think we are.
