Reminder: Claude Giroux was arrested for "repeatedly grabbing a male cop's buttocks" 2 weeks after being a 2014 Hart nominee at the NHL awards

I agree. It’s that way all up and down life, but some people want to take what you said and interpreted that as “you defend criminals and sexual harassment?” And the real to that, which they won’t allow is, “Absolutely not, I just don’t see the world in black, and I don’t assume every situation through moral projection, and I understand that humans are humans and as we clamp down more and more, more decent people will be caught in the net for doing one silly or stupid thing.” It’s almost like it’s impossible to condone something general, yet understand something specific may have nuance. Now, whether a guy smacking a male cops ass is that or not, that’s for each of us to figure out. Did he take being an entitled goofball too far? Yeah, it looks like it. Are we 2-3 years ago from sports leagues banning ass slapping amongst players? Probably. Because somewhere out there is the lowest common denominator thinking person and they are gonna get loud and leagues will feel pressured. Calling it here. The only other way is society in general says, “enough of this forced compliance in siding on only one side of complex human interactions.”

And I love Reddit, but unless you’re a in a jackass sub with a specific purpose, it does tend to lean hyper-progressive, and part of that is being outraged about other people’s fuck ups, and wanting to cancel them society. Sounds a lot like fundamental religion. Which means the moderates are being closed in on by both sides.
