You do realize that this statue is a tribute to a man who led and stood behind one of the bravest social upheavals in American history? And was actually assassinated for his political and social positions?

Shut the fuck up. Seriously. I know that's harsh and would normally and probably should be downvoted. But shut the fuck up. Human history is ugly. Humanity is ugly. Shit is not ideal. But there are people along the way who try and make it a little better. Abraham Lincoln being one of those people.

To suggest removing a statue that exists to solely memorialize this man's work and contribution to a healthy society because it depicts the very scene he sought to extinguish is shallow, short sighted, and wrong.
