TL;DR - Suggestions for cheap studio monitor(s) as secondary option to Kali LP-6s?

Is there a way to split a TRS cable so that I can have the output of 2 sources running into 1 set of monitors?

I got a cheap analog mixer (behringer xenyx q802usb) in order to have zero-latency monitoring. I split my mic signal with one going straight into my interface and the other going to the mixer. I then have the secondary outputs of my interface going to the mixer and mix the mic's input and the DAW's output to taste. I also have the ability to run the output of the mixer (minus what the DAW is sending) back into the other input of my interface just in case I like the sound I'm getting.

Like I said, it's only for getting zero-latency (or it at least seems that way) monitoring when tracking, however I wind up having to unplug the 1/4" TRS cables going to my monitors and plug them into the mixer. It's a minor inconvenience, but I'm thinking of trying to find a workaround for that as well.

My questions are:

  1. I guess first off, I should ask if there's anything wrong with this setup as described? I don't really hear any differences in sound when my monitors' signal is coming directly from the interface or when it's being routed through the mixer. The only thing is some random clicking/glitching which I believe may be electrical interference coming from my phone or something. It's very mild and I really only noticed it when listening to spotify (I like to listen to some music in the room for a while to tune my ears)
  2. Is there a way of splitting the 1/4" TRS cable so that I can have the output of the interface and the mixer both running into the same cable or is that a completely ridiculous concept? I feel like if it weren't ridiculous I'd be able to find a splitter to do that lol. Anything I've found talks about turning mono into stereo and I'd be worried that would affect the signal as it's already one side of the stereo field.
  3. My other solution is to just get some cheap monitors to be the output from the mixer which could also double as a secondary pair of monitors to check mixes on. All the cheaper ones I've seen come with 1 powered and 1 passive so that you have to run speaker wire from 1 into the other. I'd prefer to just have them both be powered and run a TRS to each. I currently have a pair of Kali LP-6s, but does anyone have any suggestions?
    1. Should I buy two sets of cheap monitors and just use the powered ones, maybe sell the others as being a set to use with a stereo receiver or something?
