Report: Man caught camping on Disney’s Discovery Island says it was ‘tropical paradise'

How is having private property a scam? Or do you mean in this case by Disney? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just trying to understand.

Here's my personal take on the matter. I'm not OP, but I am pro-citizen and support strong business regulation.

Remember the Homestead act?

The government gives you some land and you have to improve it in a few years or you lose it.

Corporations should never be allowed to own land, only private individuals.

Corporations should be given a lease for a certain time period, and if they do not improve the land or abandon it, it goes back to the public.

But what about wealthy individuals buying up all the land?

Same rules apply! :) Improve it, or lose it. And, the difference in taxes on Joe Citizen and Joe Corporation is significant. Joe Citizen can sell his private property to Jane Citizen, but not to corporations. If he wants to sell it to a corporation, he must first sell it to the state, who then leases it to the corporation.

For example:

Joe Citizen owns 11 properties. He wants to be a landlord and rent them out.

In order to do that, he must start a business and sell the properties the State, which then leases them to Joe Inc.

Now Joe Inc. has a 10 year lease on the properties he used to own. If he does not improve the properties, allows them to fall into disrepair, or does not renew the lease, the land goes back to the government to be sold to the public.

Joe Citizen has "lost" those properties. They now belong to the State. Joe Inc. can profit from them, but the lease is controlled by the State, not a private individual. Joe Citizen can try to buy them back at auction if Joe Inc. fails to renew the lease.
