Report says PSU cops need more training and oversight, but should keep guns

When I was at PSU I always thought they should both be fully sworn officers, and carry. They have a split force currently with some sworn and carrying and some with less authority.

That whole situation of the guy they shot is just really sad. There's so much Monday morning quarterbacking we can do on it now. If it was PPB would he have lived? Would PPB have been more aggressive in not letting the situation get to that point? I have no clue, and I also see how a man reaching for a gun in the middle of a fight could cause CPSO to fire. Is it fair for CPSO to be in that situation without being armed? Say they tazed the guy and somebody next to him picks up the gun. It's sad and id be interested in an actual cop's analysis.
