I understand and appreciate your post, but people aren't black and white. I don't believe that "all trump supporters are bad" or that "all trump supporters don't care."

My friend is living in a world where the news he watches tells him that people on the left are bad and that anyone who tells him differently is lying. I know him on a deeply personal level - he's a veteran who's depressed and angry and suicidal and Trump has given him an enemy that he can focus on. I truly truly truly do believe that if I could find a way to at least LISTEN to both sides without outright dismissing anything from "the other side" as Fake News, I really do believe he would be less dug in. That's just my situation. I know lots of other people have different situations. But I think some of these trump supporters are just lost souls who are looking for answers and the answers they're being given are coming from people who seek to do this nation harm.
