Very sorry this happened to you but I think you handled this well. The metro stations are filled with drunks and the street crowding types and this is a true shame for those of trying to ride in peace.

The real problem in DC seems to be Racine is not active with minor offenses, add a pandemic and BLM/Defund Police while community lash back towards police and they are under funded. If they make an arrest is it basically useless unless a very serious offense. I think metro has even stopped banning riders with offenses so even less accountability. So the system is totally broken and folks know this and are becoming far more open / aggressive. To be honest, I am very disappointed in DC leadership, I feel like there is this idea of compassion behind policy which is a good thing but it is not like Behavioral Services can help someone that does not want help and our metro and city blocks have truly become a mess. Very disappointing that leadership is putting compassion ahead of safe clean family oriented streets and metros. Those families most exposed relying in metro service are paying the biggest price and soon us property owners are going to feel some financial pressures. Very disappointing since we had come so far since the early 90s.
