The GOP has become a party fundamentally driven by the ideals of white Christian supremacy. Is every member a white Christian nationalist—no. However, it’s agenda has moved away from espousing what beneath the surface is essentially corporate feudalism to being primarily animated by white Christian grievance. That faction of the party has cowed all other factions as demonstrated by the vote against a 1/6 commission. Those who do not tow this line or at the very least allow it to go unchallenged are complicit. The Democrats have competing factions but aren’t banishing those who don’t fit with in a specific faction. You can be Joe Manchin or AOC in the Democratic Party. That no longer exists in the GOP.
