I don’t think FOG is an acronym for anything. I’m not positive.

It’s much more literal than that: it’s like a you are the ship in the fog. The “fog” is the guilting/gaslighting/abuse that is done to you.... but you don’t see it because: you are blinded by the fog (like real fog).

“Coming out of the FOG” is just the same in mental health: you start to see clearer and clearer... until eventually you can turn and look behind you and see that nasty cloud for all it is.... and you can keep walking away from it, and learn to avoid it, for good.

Probably best to double check all this. Maybe google up something about “FOG” in “DV relatationships”?
