Required by law to offer Chips and Salsa

You know, I’m not even Mormon myself anymore, but I am kinda straight edge, and I get so tired of this kind of attitude towards Mormons.

I know that obviously the Mormon church’s beliefs about alcohol seem so bizarre and ridiculous to outsiders since the rest of the world is literally soaked in alcohol, but I don’t think it’s without its payoffs.

On the whole, Utah is a great place to live. There aren’t really any mega ghetto areas, and for the most part you feel pretty damn safe living here. And I truly believe that Utah’s “weird” laws like this have something to do with it.

Drinking culture is sleazy. And honestly, I don’t believe that heavy alcohol use ever leads to anything good. I’m glad that Utah doesn’t have bars and clubs and liquor stores on every corner. Those places breed trash. Sorry but it’s true.

I really don’t understand why the world is so casual about alcohol period. Alcohol causes more problems and probably ruins more people’s lives than all drugs combined. It’s just silly to me that people excuse drinking when at the same time most decent people would be shocked and disgusted if someone just started casually shooting up heroin or snorting cocaine at a social gathering. So dumb!
