Rescued from an elevated highway in Shanghai

This little lady was rescued from an elevated highway in Shanghai by two fellow foster parents of charity SCAA. The kitty was heard from down below and a bystander tried to use some nearby scaffolding to go up and get it (well, this is China!) and then put a plea on social media for help, and my two friends went to help.

In the end they got an Uber XL, and the driver was more than helpful. They drove up the flyover, stopped, and after a bit of chasing (kitty was scared to death a jumping on the plant pots trying to get away) she was caught and brought to the safety of one of the rescuers house.

Picture is from her vet check up! She has ringworm but apart from that, perfectly healthy!

There is an amazing community here of people (manly local Shanghainease with some expats as well) who patrol the highways looking for kittens and cats that have been dumped. In Spring - kitten season - there's daily stories of them rescuing cats. They really do spend their time driving up and around the elevated highways looking for cats.
