Researchers have developed a novel approach to cancer immunotherapy, injecting immune stimulants directly into a tumor to teach the immune system to destroy it and other tumor cells throughout the body. The “in situ vaccination” essentially turns the tumor into a cancer vaccine factory.

As soon as I saw the mole changing and starting heal over I became concerned. I googled and found out it's really not all that unusual the have a mole heal itself and disappear. I don't know for a fact that was the immune system but there is more to the story. I had a scaly spot on the top of the same ear. It had been there for about a year and I knew enough that I should be seeing the dermatologist about it. About 3 months after the mold disappeared that spot became inflamed. It's started to heal over and then it disappeared completely. A couple of months later the same thing happened on my face. Not something I was even aware of. But about a half inch circular spot on my face became inflamed. It wasn't on the surface though it was underneath the surface of the skin. That spot also eventually cleared up completely. I suspect it was a second precancerous area. Maybe the mole was turning cancerous in the beginning also. I suspect all three are related. They happen within less than a year.
