Resident evil 4, remake or reimagining.

It needs a complete overhaul, even more than RE2 did.

RE4 is a fucking mess. The basic gameplay mechanics aren't bad, but their implementation is horrible. Remember guys, this is from back on the PS2 where QTEs were a thing, let alone considered awesome. The balance between exploration and combat was completely unfun, because you had no reason whatsoever to drink in the environments and feel immersed. After the intro in the village, the game never encourages you to get scared, because it never lets you even know where you are enough to care.

The story is absolute shit and the writing is horrendous. There's cheese and camp, and then there's failure. RE4 simply doesn't have a good execution of its main ideas, and while I don't want any remake to completely get rid of the silliness, I want to see what happens when the story is treated with a modicum of respect and care. Ashley needs to be less of a stereotype, Salazar needs to be SCARY instead of cringey, and the whole plot needs to feel like it fits into the RE universe better. Originally, it was important to step out and try something new. With a remake, RE4 needs a large dose of the things that made the classic games so great.

If a remake is made, then I hope it strikes the balance that RE2make did. Gameplay in RE4make can be faster and more hectic since it should be more action-oriented, but there should also be slow beats with exploration and puzzles so that the bigger gunfights feel both more exciting (instead of repetitive) and more deserved. No more waves of generic idiots coming to kidnap Ashley.

If it's just released with better graphics, then it's a waste of time and money. RE4 as it stands now has been released on every fucking console under the sun, so there's nothing wrong with a teenage changing things up.
