In Response to the Trevor Noah Controversy, Patton Oswalt Went on an Epic Twitter Rampage, Satirizing the Ongoing Death of Comedy

I don't even know what you're arguing. That somehow comedy is worse because people don't like racist, homophobic, sexist, or otherwise offensive jokes? I mean, as other people have pointed out, comedy is doing better than it has ever done.

What movie are you old enough to have you seen before? I mean, the same tone of calling out political correctness is how people used to treat things like black people not being farm equipment, or women being able to vote. Calling that out as something negative is ridiculous. Political correctness is never going to have gone "too far" because it's never going to have gone far enough as long as humanity finds new ways to segregate itself.

I mean, again, I don't even know what you're arguing about. No one is actually stopping people from saying things. They're just asking that they use words that aren't so offensive. No one is saying you can't say "I was ripped off". They're asking you to not say "I was gypped". No one is saying you can't say "that guy is someone I don't like". They're asking that you not say "that guy is a faggot". In what way is that substituting language for goodness and humanity? You seem like you're arguing against exactly what you're saying. You're acting like rape jokes is somehow honesty and care. To use the example I used below, that's like if someone has a fear of clowns and you put on a Pennywise mask and jump out at them. That's not honesty, that's being a jackass. I don't understand even half of what you're talking about because it seems like your entire argument comes from some world where political correctness somehow actually has run amok, as opposed to the world that we actually live in, where "don't be a fucking shithead" is and always has been a good guide to living and getting along with other human beings.
