Hey all, this is my first post here, and I'm hoping you could help point out the weaknesses of my resume and how I can improve it this next year in preparation for Summer 2017. My dream in computing has always been to work for Google, but Microsoft sounds just as great as 85% of interns get full time offers (+Seattle, so there's that also). So, here I go...
School
University of Texas at Dallas B.S. Software Eng. (in progress) 3.0 GPA
Community college A.A. (completed) 3.0 GPA
Relevant Work Experience
Accepted internship offer for a large bank in Dallas (Summer 2016)
Web development intern turned junior dev for a small company 08/14-12/15
More Real Life Experience
Github
EPICS
Leadership Experience
Campus Ambassador and student leader at Community College
Member of a leadership board at UTD
Volunteering
Active member of Rotary club of UTD
...
I'm attempting to find a project to contribute to on GitHub, but man these projects have LARGE codebases and can be quite daunting to find one that I can actually understand and help with.
Other than that, what do you guys think I can do to beef up my credentials?
P.S. Does anyone know if I can actually get an internship for Summer 2017 since I graduate that December? It'll be much easier to get than a full time position. I emailed a Microsoft recruiter about it, and she asked for my resume. I sent it to her and she hasn't answered since (1.5 months). I even followed up multiple times and she still hasn't answered.
