Retirement

I was Active Duty Air Force. Got out and started working as a Federal government contractor. Joined the Air National Guard for some extra money. Enjoyed working F-16s part time while working on government airplanes.

After a few years of working with the Feds. Applied for and got a Federal Government job fixing aircraft.

Worked both jobs till my knees started giving me problems. So I retired from the Reserves with 30 years of service. Then turned 60 and retired from Government service.

Started collecting two pensions at age 60. Also started taking money out of my TSP401k

Last Christmas I turned 62 and started collecting Social Security. So today I get 4 checks a month. And almost free Tricare medical insurance.

DFAS 2175

OPM 2050

Social Security 1800

TSP/401k 2000

If you want to retire. Get a government job.
