It the right decision. It won't be popular here I think, but too many people on here are too quick to jump immediately to the "let them learn online". I'm sorry, but even if kids had equal access (which is obviously a problem), online learning is not an environment conducive to teaching, especially for younger children. Sticking them in front of a laptop or PC is simply not a solution.

when adjusting for disadvantaged students, the modelling suggests a 23-33% decline in numeracy learning and a 15-22% decline in reading for year 5s and year 9s, compared to classroom-based learning.

Online learning isn't viable for much longer. I feel for this generation, they're going to be so far behind.
