Returning an item over $1000

CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY. If it's a credit card form of payment, it's going to be refunded to the credit card used. This is put in place in a lot of retailers to deter credit card fraud. I am no expert, it's just my common sense kicking in, and previous research; you can correct me if I am wrong. Call your CC company and ask what you can do.

Here is a copy pasta from Google search:

Your card expiring does not close your account, so it does not harm yourcredit report or credit score in any way. Your balance does not go away — If you hoped your credit card expirationdate would get you out of paying, you hoped wrong. (Obviously this does not sound like your intention in the OP, I'm just trying to say debt doesn't go away easily so speak with your credit card company.)
