A Reverse-Trump Tax Plan Delivers an Economic Miracle in Sweden

I do. American "conservatism" isn't a coherent ideology, it is whatever those who identify as such are told it is from minute to minute. The only constant is the steady transfer of wealth upward.

The National Review essentially invented modern American "conservatism", and it is still the acme of American conservative "intellectualism" for want of a better word. Reading the National Review in 2017 is like being stuck on a short bus full of witless religious zealots, Ayn Rand worshiping 'libertarian' sociopaths, bigots and entitled children. Whatever you'd like to romanticize it as, at the end of the day it is a cult of stupidity -- a religion invented by plutocrats and oligarchs to exploit ignorance, fear and avarice.

Why do you think the GOP is so divided? Because as I said American "conservatism" isn't a coherent ideology, it is whatever those who identify as such are told it is from minute to minute. Problem is due to this there are competing factions defining "conservatism" to suit their own interests.

At the end of the day, what defines it is the objective outcome, and there isn't one positive point of data to point to, and there hasn't been for half a century. Trickle down anyone? Supply side anyone? "Fiscal conservatism" has been a hugely damaging failure, and it is the only positive thing conservative hang their dunce caps on, what with the rest of their "ideology" being so utterly repugnant.
