[Review] Rants, Raves, & New Purchases Jun 24, 2018

Skin type: Acne prone, dehydrated.

Rave: So, after not using a moisturizer for a while because I was ~paranoid~ like many of the users here of certain ingredients, I finally said fuck it and bought Farmacy's Honey Drop because I happened to be in Sephora and I was tired of searching. My favorite moisturizer ever was $65 for 1.7 oz. Honey Drop is $45 for 1.7 oz. The $20 difference and the lack of silicones, fragrances, and other scaries was a deal maker.

Getting the product out of the box was a weird challenge. I'm used to normal boxes but this is no normal box. This is f a n c y boxing. It's like a Chinese takeout box inside of a square sleeve that makes you think it might be a normal box. Inside the Chinese takeout box (oof, I'm hungry now) is an actual normal box (why all the packaging?!). Once you get the guy out, there is a cute metal spatula attached to the lid via MAGNETICISM. I come from a life of very plain product packaging so this was unexpected. Screw off the cute wooden (did I mention it's magnetic?) lid, and there's one of those plastic stoppers to protect the precious contents from germs and such.

The product itself is very light. It's pastel yellow in color, although no dyes are used so this is assumed to be from the propolis and other bee products used in the moisturizer. A little goes a LONG way, especially when you apply it properly to a damp face. This stuff glides on your skin like a slip n' slide. It leaves my face looking wet for a few minutes after application, but my dehydrated skin digs it. It eventually dries down and seems kind of matte on my skin, however it is slightly tacky to the touch. I don't mind it.

The only thing that is odd about the product is the yellow grainy bits, which I believe are propolis. They disappear if you smooth the product into the skin for a few seconds. If you simply smear the product on your face and don't work it in, the yellow flakes stay visible.
